Hand Building: 4-week/session series

Create with Confidence — No Experience Required!

Hand-building lets you shape clay with freedom, inviting more organic and expressive forms. Discover the creative and relaxing world of hand-built pottery in this 4-week course. We’ve designed our series for absolute beginners and hobbyists alike. Our small class sizes are tailored for personalized guidance, individual pace, and creative goals. Come solo or with a friend.

Throughout the series, we’ll cover:

  • Week 1 Introduction & Hand-built Mug: Learn the foundations of slab work and assembly. We’ll begin our course by creating a signature mug with a secure handle.

  • Week 2Mug Finishing + Organic Bowl: Refine your mug and start a new project: an organic bowl using our studio texture mats and slump moulds.

  • Week 3 – Personal Project: This session is devoted to personal projects, such as a vase, a planter, or a tray. Your instructor will help by providing templates (if needed) and step-by-step guidance to bring your project idea to life.

  • Week 4 – Final Touches & Glaze Day: Glaze your mug and organic bowl. Finalize your personal project in preparation for its first firing (you can return to glaze it at your convenience once fired).

Membership: Our 4-week courses qualify our students for membership at our studio. Orientation fees are waived.

Introduction to the Wheel: Wheel try-out

Beginners welcome!
Come solo or with a group.

Up to 2 hours

Ever wanted to take a pottery wheel for a spin without committing to a multi-week course? This workshop is perfect for you. Come solo or with a friend to our relaxed, creative studio. We’ll walk you through the basics of wheel throwing so you can try your hand at creating small cups or bowls.

What’s included:

  • Wheel Session – Guided demonstration and hands-on pottery workshop to learn centring and raising clay walls while on a pottery wheel.

  • Finishing – we’ll handle the rest. We dry, trim (carve the foot), and kiln-fire your pieces with a beautiful, clear, shiny glaze.

  • Pick-up. Your creations will be ready for pick-up approximately 3 to 4 weeks after the workshop.

  • All-Inclusive: Clay, tools, finishing/trimming, two kiln-firings, and professional glazing by the studio.

By participating, you acknowledge that there is no guarantee that a finished piece will be successfully produced. No refunds, replacements, or credits will be issued for pieces damaged or lost during the making or firing process.
